Are you stuck?

Successful, capable but stuck! You’re a leader but life just isn’t working the way it did before.

You’re experienced.  Maybe things have worked up to now, or perhaps you’ve simply been busy with life. But now something needs fixing, or it simply needs to be changed and different.

Have you been thrust into a new season, not even of your own making, and you’re needing some help navigating new and foreign territory? It is possible that you’d simply like some company on this new and conceivably daunting journey and transition.

So, you’re not living your best life and it’s somewhat frustrating.  You’re finally ready to put your hand up.  Not that you need some silver bullet (and you know there’s no such thing), but it would be good to be walking with someone who has also been in a few tough spots over the years.  And to develop a different perspective, broaden your horizons and enjoy life more!

That’s the LIFE part in Tree Life Leadership. Learning to experience Joy and overflowing Goodness, no matter how weird or difficult the days may be, and let’s face it, we all have them!

Not only is this about ‘getting somewhere’ but it’s also about learning to enjoy the journey albeit in the context of a difficult reality. But Joy is something no-one can ever take away.  It’s a keeper.

You’re fairly sure you’re missing something, but you need to go on an exploration, look under some rocks, dig up some dirt, maybe even take a stroll among some trees!

Which brings me to the TREE in Tree Life Leadership.  Why a tree?  Well, I’ve long been a lover of trees.  And I was once a forester and a sawmiller too.  Really!! Specifically, I love eucalyptus trees.  I love their inherent strength and their silvery beauty as they reach up to the sky.  Awe-struck is me standing there and looking up!

Some trees grow fast in the right conditions.  Others like to grow slowly savoring their journey, like the beautiful yellowwood. Some grow tall, some are wider. Each tree is unique, even within its species because it depends on its environment not only to survive but to thrive.  Some take a while to bear fruit like the Brazil nut which takes around 70 years, while others get going earlier.  It’s interesting that form follows function, each is designed to bear fruit at its right time.  Of course, the culture would like to mould us in its own image, and it can be frustrating if expectations assail us from all sides.

Nevertheless, we are all carefully and beautifully designed to bear fruit, each in our season, and when we understand this, we can pursue true fulfillment, with peace, joyfully embracing what each day has for us, no matter how hard or seemingly futile it may seem, learning to rise above the temptation to partner with a victim mindset.

This journey is your own, and you are gardening with the Great Gardener. Go forth!
